My experience with the blog

A few years ago I made a blog and shared things to talk but I closed it because I was not very motivated by the format. But this time it was different because having a theme to post with several colleagues the dynamic changes. First because you have to write in English, which adds an extra difficulty in writing and reading. Writing a common theme among classmates makes it entertaining because you discover things that in general are not discussed much. Writing in English implies that you have to think a lot more about what you want to say, which also makes you wonder better what you want to write. In relation to the photos, in some post it was difficult to choose an image that synthesized what was written. When reviewing my post I also realize that I am a little obsessed with the guitar, is that I love her! jajajaj In general I think it has been a very good pedagogic exercise and also useful to go letting go of writing in English. I have felt very comfortable writing this and the ...

The curanto

My favorite food is curanto. The curanto is not a generic type of food. The curanto is a typical food from the south of Chile, specifically from Chiloe. Although similar foods are made in other parts of the world, the Chilote curanto is unique. It is very popular in the south of Chile because it is a festive meal and it is really very tasty. Generally the curanto is composed of a mixture of seafood, smoked fish, smoked pork, sausages, chicken, potatoes, chapaleles and some add milcaos.El curanto is cooked in two ways. One way is to do it to the pot, which is also called pulmay, where it is cooked in a broth with white wine that is really wonderful. Another way, the most traditional, is to do it in a hole where steam is cooked with hot stones. I suggest the curanto to the pot since the broth is a mixture of all the flavors and it also has white wine, water, condiments, onion and other chopped vegetables if you wish. The curanto should also be accompanied by pebre, I like the preparat...

My effects pedal

In this semester I have had many interesting study topics. Although I do not know if I could choose a single favorite if there is one I've spent a lot of time with. This semester I have started to study pedals and guitar effects. All this is because I bought a multi-effect pedal for my guitar, I'm a bit obsessed with the electric guitar. At first glance it is very complex and in reality it is. That is why I not only have to study what effect it brings but also how they work. In general what happens is that an electrical signal comes from the guitar. This signal depending on the effect, comes out in another way and then becomes sound when it passes through the amplifier. Thus for example a compressor effect cuts the highest peaks of the signal and also homogenizes the signal, the sound is even and without volume variations. Or a booster amplifies the entire signal and saturates it at higher points, sounding like a slight distortion. The study of the effects is a whole worl...

Google Scholar

When you want to find academic information I recommend the google scholar site. In this website you will find papers, books and documents of basic sciences, social sciences, literature, among many others. I study sociology and permanently we have to look for similar research. These investigations help us to get some idea, for background or to follow a thread of research. In Google scholar documents are generally indexed and belong to research centers and universities around the world. One of the many pro's is that you can find research in many languages. A counter is that there are not many complete books. In general, Google scholar is a powerful search engine for academic content. You can also refine your search by year, relevance and language. Although the search engine is quite powerful you will not find everything here and there are other portals associated with various databases. Although the site is quite complete, it does not have everything either. You will not find any r...

My favorite Writer

My favorite writer is Gabriel Garcia Marquez. I think it is known by all but here are some data. Gabriel Garcia Marquez was born on March 6, 1927 in Aracata, Colombia. He died a short time ago, on April 17, 2104 in Mexico City. Garcia Marquez was a Colombian writer, journalist, editor and screenwriter. He is the most important author of the literary current known as "magic realism". His most important and well-known novel is the famous "One Hundred Years of Solitude". The first edition was launched in 1967 and since then it has become one of the most important novels in Latin American literature. To date, 30 million copies of the novel have been sold in 35 different languages. Gabriel Garcia Marquez received the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1982, being the fourth Latin American to win the prestigious award. The last book I read about Gabo was "12 Pilgrim Stories", short but incredible stories, only as Garcia Marquez could tell.

One of my favourites photos

I took this picture a couple of years ago. I was next to my girl crossing Ferry on the southern road. It was dawn and I had driven for 3 hrs. It was summer and even then it was very cold, that woke me up. The dawn was so different in its colors, it was a calm, but a powerful calm, that energy was breathed. The darkness was of a different hue, it is a blue-green, in the middle of a pale and white focus. I love this picture because that's how I remembered it. I remember the colors and that reminds me of many more things, the smells, the smell of the sea, of the trees and the earth. Patagonia is an incredible place! I highly recommend doing the crossing of the highway at least once, with time and also with patience, although I took this photo then I kept the phone. It is necessary to disconnect.
